Dustin Malbrough, GIS Engineering President

“The addition of the Chustz team will bring enhanced technology, quality resources, and a new client network that will boost our existing portfolio and increase our professional service offerings. Our companies are both family-owned and operated with uniquely similar work-place cultures. Together, we look forward to realizing the future opportunities that lie ahead of us, while continuing to stay true to our core values: putting our employees first, being the most responsive service provider, and delivering results for our customers.”

While enhancing the value of both businesses, the integration will allow for a competitive advantage and create numerous business opportunities for the partnership. The Chustz organization will now have access to GISEng’s vast capabilities, additional resources, and extensive client base allowing us to grow relationships and further expand its business. The merger also allows GISEng to expand its existing Infrastructure business into the Federal market and boost its surveying resources and capabilities to better serve existing clients in the Energy, Industrial, Power, and Public Works sectors.

Jimmy Chustz, Chustz Surveying Owner

“Together we will continue to prioritize our core values and commitment to safety and the high-quality product that has made us a successful company for over 27 years. The energy and emphasis on taking care of their employees had an impact on me. This coupled with their commitment to safety, quality and responsiveness to the client, assured me that GIS Engineering was the right partner for our company and our customers.”

Chustz personnel are cross-trained to ensure a solid and continuous work process, as well as superior quality control throughout each phase of our projects. Their tested experience and new ideas will keep our company at the forefront of the surveying industry. Chustz is involved in an array of projects for our various clientele, including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority, Department of Natural Resources, and Department of Transportation, in addition to other private engineering firms and the general public.

By combining these entities, this will allow us to:

  • Strengthen and grow our self-performance capabilities.
  • Access to broader resources and markets to pursue new opportunities.
  • Support diversification and possess the technology needed for advanced aerial and underwater data acquisition.
  • Enhance our front-end service offerings to maintain GIS’ position as a leader in the energy & infrastructure markets.
  • Offer job security, career growth, and advancement for our employees across multiple geographic areas.

Chustz and the team in its entirety will transition to GIS Engineering within their current roles. The organization has begun the integration process to ensure a seamless transition for both parties.

The addition of the Chustz team will increase the corporate headcount by 40 employees with Louisiana-based offices located in New Roads and New Orleans, along with support from all other 13 GIS facilities in Louisiana and Texas.

Dustin Malbrough, GIS Engineering President

“From our initial meeting to express interest and discuss the make-up of his firm, I just knew a partnership between GISEng & Jimmy Chustz would be great for both companies and our customers because our workplace culture, accountability, and results driven mindset were so closely aligned. Jimmy has assembled a highly-competent, savvy team of professionals that are able to deliver advanced technology and data acquisitions for their clients.”

Based in New Roads, LA, Chustz Surveying, LLC. is an industry leader in aerial and hydrographic surveying, with more than 27 years of servicing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Federal sector and other commercial, state and local clients. Since its inception in 1995, Chustz has continued to grow through hard work and client satisfaction. Chustz began with only a pickup truck and a single boat, providing surveying and mapping services as a subcontractor on a New Orleans district project. From that point on, they have invested in the most knowledgeable and qualified employees, along with state-of-the-art technology in order to assure the highest caliber of service. This has allowed the team to expand into other surveying areas, including hydrographic surveying, sUAS (unmanned aerial systems), GPS surveying, singlebeam technology, multibeam technology and LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) acquisition.
