Established in 1948 in Grand Isle, Louisiana, GIS began as a modest company serving the commercial fishing industry. It quickly evolved, entering into the emerging Oil & Gas industry in the Gulf of Mexico. Just as its founders, Clyde and Ouida Pregeant, responded to clients’ ever-changing needs, GIS has advanced and diversified to become one of the industry’s most capable and trusted energy partners.

Serving upstream, midstream, and downstream markets, we align our services with operations from the conceptual stage through construction, commissioning, and asset maintenance.

While our Corporate HSE group focuses on compliance, training, and incident response, the LIFE processes specifically cover Operational Safety, through comprehensive work planning, increasing awareness of work area & task risks, intervention techniques for redirecting at-risk behaviors, embedded field presence, quarterly initiatives focused on observed areas of risk, and visible leadership engagement.
