Refining

refinery rebuild project

Project Overview
  • GIS Industrial was requested to provided Mechanical and Civil construction services as part of a $65MM complete rebuild of an existing refinery. GIS worked closely with the owner Engineer DRL during the process, as well as plant operations, engineering, inspection and safety groups. The client was faced with a monumental challenge from initial start of project, which consisted of thousands of feet of piping, 40 pieces of equipment and 100’s of cubic yards of concrete was to be removed as quickly as possible in order for the new construction to commence. GIS Industrial executed the work flawlessly over the course of 2 month’s timeframe, 1 month ahead of schedule. Following came the new installation work that evolved over a short time frame to expand in growth and scope going into the commissioning and start up activities. The entire project team has continuously strived to improve the internal rate of return for the project and the customer. Integrated approach towards improved constructability, execution and planning was mandatory for the project success.
