Renewable Fuels

c-12 project

Project Overview
  • GIS was awarded a contract to support River Birch at their plant facility located in Avondale, LA where the new plant will enable our customer to extract the CO2 from beneath the mounds of dirt and trash to strip out the methane gas and utilize the production of the renewable energy to sell the CO2 to hospitals nearby.

  • The project scope included GIS to provide materials, equipment, labor resources, as well as foundation and building to fabricate, test, and blasting painting capabilities to install and complete the revamped facility. GIS initiated the fabrication scope in June 2021 within our Galliano Fabrication facility and transferred operations onsite at the Avondale facility in August 2021 to continue installation, mechanical, and structural scopes. In addition, GIS utilized our fabric maintenance crews onsite to perform all of the insulation scopes. Following the initial phases of the project, GIS continued efforts to progress into the CO2 and Pipelines phases and upon completion of the shut-in to perform final tie-ins, our crew closed with the final focus on the Compressor Phase of the project. Crews performed the work to deliver the project on schedule, incident free.

  • From the outstanding work provided by our crews, this project has afforded GIS the opportunity for future work with the client as well as continuing the ongoing efforts for maintenance on the current site
