Recently, our GIS Franklinton Fabrication Yard was awarded with a distinguished recognition of being the town of Franklinton’s “Business of the Year.” Franklinton currently employs about 40 personnel, and we want to congratulate everyone as well as leadership involved in helping to achieve this prestigious award. Below is the feedback received from the Franklinton Chamber of Commerce:
“Ten years ago, The Town of Franklinton, The Franklinton Area Economic Development Foundation, and GIS began discussions about the possibility of GIS establishing a fabrication facility in Washington Parish. Economic Development Director Ryan Seal first spoke with GIS President Clyde Pregeant about how the Franklinton area could benefit GIS. Namely, a quality workforce and shovel-ready land available in our new 100-acre industrial park. As negotiations progressed, Franklinton Mayor Earle Brown was brought in and was very excited at the possibility of having GIS in Franklinton.
GIS has persistently delivered to the town and the economic development foundation. They are an excellent corporate citizen, constantly donating to worthy causes throughout Washington Parish.
Washington Parish and the Town of Franklinton are proud to have GIS here, and we are also proud to present them with this award.”
