GALLIANO, LA – Grand Isle Shipyard, LLC (GIS), one of the industry’s most capable and trusted energy partners, has been awarded a contract by Shell Exploration & Production Company, a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell to provide the production operations and maintenance services for Shell’s deep-water Vito asset in the Gulf of Mexico.
Mark Pregeant II, President of GIS, stated, “We are excited that Shell has placed trust in our company to continue to expand our 25+ year partnership. With the industry moving to more integrated operations and deeper partnership alignment, Vito affords us the opportunity to display our ability to help develop and deliver on a best in class business model. I know that our team will safely exceed all expectations on Vito.”
Shell is expected to begin the initial phase of its Vito development within the first quarter of 2019. GIS will be providing personnel support for the asset to include Production Operators, Crane Operators, Ballast Control Operators, I&E Technicians, Mechanics, and Electricians.
Vito is expected to reach peak production of approximately 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day, which represents a significant contribution to our continued growth in the Gulf of Mexico. With 40-years of Shell leadership in deep-water, Vito will be Shell’s 11th deep-water host in the Gulf of Mexico and is currently scheduled to begin producing oil in 2021. Located over four blocks in the Mississippi Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico, the Vito development will consist of eight subsea wells with deep (18,000 feet) in-well gas lift.
